But if not for the swarm of girls that rushed him she might have missed him. As it turned out she was standing right next to him. Well, yes! She spotted one of his Days of Gold tour trucks. Oh, and I almost forgot, I got a text from Leeann a few days after I left asking if I knew a Jake Owen fella. The Tempura and Piccata recipes were oh-so-good!īesides catching some big red snappers, one eel (ick), I got to drive my cousin Mac’s boat, and I drank lots of coffee on their back porch. And when restaurant chefs cook what you catch, that is the coolest thing. I loved the Keys’ laid-back feeling, surrounding gorgeous blue water and excellent fishing. We drove three days to get there but it was well worth it.

Visiting my cousin Mac and his wife, Leeann, at their island home was a treat for my father and me. A recent fishing trip to the Florida Keys with my dad inspires me to think of my five favorite fishing songs – see that list at the bottom of the post.
